Ok, so I realize I am literally MONTHS behind on this but I figured while I have the pictures on my computer, I would do a quick blog post of how I decorated our home for Christmas this year. At the very least, maybe you can use it as inspiration for next year :) But hey, I'm new to this whole blogging thing and am still working on balancing my full time job as a teacher, being a wife, traveling and having a blog on the side. I'll figure it out eventually, right?...
Ok, so when you first walk in our door, you walk directly into our dining room. I added a few subtle touches of christmas decor in this room. Nothing over the top but eventually I would love to add more. Dare I say, maybe even another Christmas tree?! Sorry in advance to my poor hubby.
After you walk through the dining room, you walk into our family room and kitchen. It's an open floor plan so it's basically one giant room which I love for when we have people over. In the kitchen, I added a few touches of red with a christmas pitcher, some holiday towels, a new table runner and some fun garland to the top of the cabinets. I found this fabulous red and white striped ribbon from Michael's and used it as my inspiration this year. I love how my little boxwood wreath from Target looks hanging from the ribbon. Also, how fun is that JOY sign? I got it from Michael's at 60% off!
Next, the family room. Y'all, Christmas literally EXPLODED in this room and I loved every second of it. Twinkling lights on the mantle, tree and our DIY console table. Glitter everywhere and that fabulous red and white ribbon I mentioned earlier. I loved it. I couldn't wait to get home every night to immediately turn all of the lights on. Side note: check out that tree collar! I about did a back flip inside of HomeGoods when I saw it! Isn't it fab!?
A close up of the mantle.
Since we were going to be visiting in Kentucky for the majority of the holiday season, I decided to keep the decorations to the first floor mostly. I did however add a mini tree and some small decorations to our bonus room area. I love how sweet and simple this tree looked.
So, again, I know I'm so late but better late than never, right?? I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season with your loved ones!
