Christmas Home Tour 2016

With Christmas being a week away, I figured I should probably post some pictures on the blog of our Christmas decorations.  If you follow my instagram account, @myoldkyhomedesign, then you have probably seen most of these pictures and decorated rooms but I wanted to make a blog post as well.

When you first walk into our house, you walk directly into the dining room area.  This year I decided to put another Christmas tree up in this room.  It looks so pretty at night and you can see the tree from the road as well which I love.

Isn't that copper tree collar to die for?!  I got it from HomeGoods this year! And the rustic wooden star, Target!

My sweet husband built this wooden box for me to decorate with and  I love it.  For Christmas, I decide to throw in some sparkly greenery, pine cones and pillar lights.  It couldn't have been easier and I love the way it looks.  Bonus, the wood was scrap wood we had already and all the items inside the box I got from Michaels for super cheap.

When you walk through the dining room, you walk into our living room and kitchen.  I love the bright pops of red that I've added to this space.  It's so festive and cheery and I think it compliments the light blue walls well! (Paint color is Dockside Blue by Sherwin Williams)

The mantle is my favorite part of this room.  Last year at this time we hadn't completed our DIY shiplap makeover yet and I absolutely love how it turned out!  Here is a link to the the steps to complete this same process yourself! http://myoldkentuckyhomedesign.blogspot.com/2016_02_01_archive.html

The Kitchen:
I love the lighted garland I added to the top of the cabinets which I got from Michael's for a great deal.  It looks so pretty at night and the little boxwood wreath with the red and white striped ribbon and the "joy" marquee sign are just enough to make this space full of holiday cheer.

This easy and inexpensive DIY centerpiece looks great on the kitchen table paired with a silver table runner.

Master Bedroom:
This year I decided to add a small tree in our bedroom.  It's small but the soft glowing of the lights at night is so cozy and relaxing.  The tree paired with a chunky sweater blanket and our bedroom was ready for the holidays.

Well, that's it!  I hope you enjoyed taking a sneak peek inside our house and that you have a wonderful holiday with your loved ones! Merry Christmas and happy holidays!
